Sam Holland - Artistic Director
Sam is an English Literature graduate of the University of East Anglia. Sam, co-wrote and directed a short silent comedy called, 'Dead Meat' with fellow Quite Right member, Jonathan Cobb as part of the UEA Minotaur Shorts Festival in 2012. His full directorial debut however, came in the form of 'Rope' by Patrick Hamilton, which won the 'Drama Society production of the year', 2013 and would steer Sam onto the directorial path. After Quite Right's inception in 2014, Sam has directed two Italian Shakespeare tours for the company; King Lear in 2014 and Measure for Measure In 2015. Sam helped produce and act in Quite Right's 'The Zoo Story' at Theatre Delicatessen under the direction of Heather Morgan and since November 2014 has toured original production, 'Sanctum' starring Quite Right's Ardi Mejzini. |
Jonathan Cobb
Jonathan graduated with a BA in Drama at the University of East Anglia, where he performed 47 plays in three years, and realised he struggles to survive when he doesn’t have another script to learn. Jon has worked with Sam on several occasions co-directing and writing Dead Meat as well as starring as 'Granillo' in Rope. After graduating from University, Jonathan went on to study acting professionally at Drama Studio London, with the aim of making the art of performance his career. Jonathan has been involved in both Italian tours taking on the roles of Edmund & Oswald in 'King Lear' & Lucio & Barnadine in 'Measure for Measure'. |
Emma Jennings
Israeli born Emma studied Drama and English Literature at the University of East Anglia where she was former vice president of minotaur theatre company. Whilst there, Emma received rave reviews for her portrayals of Meg in Harold Pinter's 'The Birthday Party' and the Nurse in 'Romeo and Juliet. Emma played the role of Edgar in Quite Right's 2014 production of King Lear. |
Matt Carson
Matt Carson is from Worsley, Manchester and an English Literature graduate from the University of East Anglia. Matt informally began his acting career at a young age, mimicking his school teachers and acting heroes for the amusement of his classmates. Matt has been involved in both Quite Right Theatre tours in Italy taking on the roles of Gloucester in 'King Lear' & Duke Vincentio in 'Measure for Measure'. Matt is currently in the process of teaching English in Vietnam. |
Sophie MacKenzie
Sophie graduated from the one-year acting course at Drama Studio London in 2014 which followed graduating the University of East Anglia with a degree in Drama in 2013. Sophie has been involved in both Italian tours, playing Cordelia & the Fool in 'King Lear' (2014) and Pompey & Mariana in 'Measure for Measure' (2015) as well as scoring both productions on guitar. Sophie loves music and dabbles in guitar, bass and drums but sadly is not a one-man band. |
Jamie-Rose Monk
Jamie-Rose trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and performs regularly with OFFIE nominated theatre company, West Avenue. She was also fortunate enough to win one of Triforce Monologue Slam competitions at Stratford East Theatre last year in the three minute round. Jamie played Regan in Quite Right's 2014 production of King Lear. |
Ardi Mejzini
Kosovan-Albanian Ardi, graduated from the University of East Anglia with a BA in Drama, as well as a year's study at the University of Hull in Contemporary Theatre and performance. Ardi's first major role came at UEA where he played Wyndham Brandon in 'Rope', directed by Sam Holland and garnered the 'best lead actor' accolade at UEA's Drama Soc awards. Ardi has been involved in all of Quite Right's productions, playing the eponymous role of King Lear in Quite Right's 2014 production, Jerry in Edward Albee's 'The Zoo Story' directed by Heather Morgan & Angelo in 2015's Measure for Measure. Ardi is also the star of 'Sanctum' an original one man show by Quite Right Theatre about the story of a refugee named Gjergj during the Kosovo war in 1999. It has been touring since November 2014 and was first shown at Moor Delicatessen in Sheffield during the city's Light Night festival. |
Christina McMahon - Producer
Christina is a graduate of the University of East Anglia, now working in London.
She has been Producer for Quite Right Theatre on three occasions, most recently during Measure for Measure in Puglia, Italy, during October 2015. This production played in venues such as Teatro Della Forche, Massafra; Laboratorio Urbani, Fasano; G.Lan, Alberobello, to all ages. Prior to this she produced three runs of Romeo and Juliet; Norwich (March 2012), Locorotondo, Italy (September 2012), and Massafra, Italy (December 2012). She has been involved in the running of workshops throughout these runs.
As well as her work with Quite Right, Christina has produced amateur productions of 'The Real Thing' by Tom Stoppard, 'The Birthday Party' by Harold Pinter, the satirical musical 'Reefer Madness', and 'Rope' by Patrick Hamilton.
Christina has worked at the Norwich Theatre Royal, Royal Exchange Theatre, National Student Drama Festival and C Venues at the Edinburgh Fringe.
